U.S. commissioners from the International Joint Commission were in Washington, D.C., this week for “Great Lakes Day,” part of the Great Lakes Commission’s semiannual meeting.

The commissioners came to gather and provide information to members of Congress and their staff, and also met with representatives of the Great Lakes Fishery Commission.

A two-page Fact Sheet on Great Lakes water levels was handed out at the meetings.

We’d like to make this information available to the public, to help explain the many factors affecting Great Lakes water levels, and steps the IJC is investigating to deal with this complex issue.

You can read the Fact Sheet below, and also download it. The document includes a link to the International Upper Great Lakes Study page, which was recently updated with legacy information on the five-year project.
