International Souris River Study Board to Host Public Meeting
Members of the public are invited to attend a presentation of the International Souris River Study Board (ISRSB) on February 20, 2020, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Clarion Hotel and Conference Center in Minot, North Dakota. Following a brief overview of the study and its progress, as well as updates on recent conditions and water management in the basin, the public will have an opportunity to ask questions and share its views with members of the Board.
The study board was established by the International Joint Commission in 2017 in response to a request by Canadian and United States governments to review the operating plan on water supply and flood control in the Souris River basin.
Public participation and feedback is an important consideration of the study board. Here are some ways to be involved:
- Attending the public meeting. RSVPs are appreciated but not required. Register now.
- Subscribing to updates on the Study: www.ijc.org/en_/isrsb
- Follow the International Souris River Board: www.ijc.org/en_/isrb/home
The public meeting is being held in conjunction with the 6th annual conference of the Assiniboine River Basin Initiative (ARBI), which takes place on February 19-20 at Clarion Hotel. Gregg Wiche, US Study Board Manager and former Director at the North Dakota Water Science Center with the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), will present an update on the ISRSB at 1:15 pm on February 19 at the same location.
