Partners

IWI project partners are key actors in the IWI program. Although every IWI project is carried out by an IJC board, many projects involve other partnering agencies, organizations, and communities. IWI project partners can range from federal, state/provincial, and municipal governments to Indigenous communities and governments, and non-governmental organizations.

Project partners are often very familiar with the issue or topic at hand and provide valuable insights and expertise. They can also provide in-kind contributions such as equipment, staff, and data to assist with the execution of the tasks or the delivery of the product at hand. Additionally, project partners can contribute monetary funding for the general advancement of the project. The resources contributed by our partners, whether traditional funding or in-kind, often match or surpass the IWI funding allocated to each project.
