IJC and GLFC Unveil Interactive Aquatic Invasive Species Timeline
Need to know when zebra mussels were first discovered in the Great Lakes?
Need to know when key legislation and regulations were passed in both Canada and the U.S.?
Then, visit http://www.ijc.org/rel/ais-timeline/ for an interactive, binational timeline of key events, discoveries and policy changes regarding Aquatic Invasive Species in the Great Lakes.
Developed by the International Joint Commission and the Great Lakes Fishery Commission, the "AIS Timeline" will be a useful tool for the public, policy makers and Great Lakes researchers who need to keep track of this important issue.
The timeline is designed to be a living document and will be updated and enhanced on a regular basis. We hope this tool will help inform efforts to close the doors on aquatic invaders and help respond to those already here.
