APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA

  1. Commissioners approved the agenda.

LAKE ONTARIO – ST LAWRENCE RIVER

  1. Commissioners received an oral update on discussions with governments concerning the draft Terms of Reference of the proposed Working Group noting that they had been circulated for comment to all relevant federal U.S. and Canadian departments as well as the state of New York and the provinces of Ontario and Quebec.
  2. Commissioners were informed that the CBC television network is working on a documentary and would like to interview Chair Gray.

INTERNATIONAL ST. LAWRENCE RIVER BOARD OF CONTROL

  1. Commissioners:
    1. received an oral report on a Canadian interdepartmental meeting, attended by Canadian Section advisers, to discuss appointments to the Canadian Section of the Control Board;
    2. approved a plan for appointments to the Board, including the re-appointments of Messieurs Andre Carpentier, Peter Yeomans, Theodore Huller, James Bernier, and Frank Sciremammano; and
    3. requested an update at the December Executive meeting on discussions with the Board concerning taking the environment into account when considering deviations from the regulation plan.

CENTENNIAL

  1. Commissioners approved:
    1. combining the BWT100 brochure and the Commission's 2008 Annual Report into a single document; and
    2. expending up to $12,000 (Cdn) for a contract to develop a Centennial website.

IJC'S 14th BIENNIAL REPORT

  1. Commissioners reviewed the draft Executive Summary of the Report and provided several comments for the staff drafters to take into account in finalizing the Report for the December Executive meeting.
