  1. APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA

    Commissioners approved the agenda with the addition of two items under Other Business:

    1. Global Environmental Facility (GEF) Workshop
    2. Boundary Waters Treaty (BWT) Centennial

  2. LAKE ONTARIO — ST. LAWRENCE RIVER

    Commissioners discussed a draft letter to governments and agreed to review a further draft next week.

  3. APPOINTMENTS

    Commissioners approved the appointment of Ms Kathryn Arnold to the US Section of the PIAG of the Upper Great Lakes Study

  4. INTERNATIONAL UPPER GREAT LAKES STUDY

    Commissioners approved a draft reply with edits to Mary Muter of the Georgian Bay Association Foundation.

  5. OTHER BUSINESS

    1. Global Environmental Facility (GEF) Workshop

      Commissioners approved one Commissioner (Chair Brooks) attending the September 2008 GEF Workshop in Entebbe, Uganda provided it did not conflict with priority IJC business.

    2. Boundary Waters Treaty (BWT) Centennial

      Commissioners were briefed on meetings held in Niagara Falls August 14 – 16, 2008 related to the Niagara BWT Celebration events and on issues related to the Canada Post stamp and approved June 10, 2008 as the date for the stamp ceremony in Niagara Falls, Ontario and a stamp "cancel" location of Cardston, Alberta; and any Commissioners attending SOLEC in Niagara Falls to also participate in a reception to unveil the Niagara BWT100 Committee’s promotional material and their website at the same location and time.
