  1. MINUTES

    Commissioners approved the Minutes of the Commission's Conference Calls of December 21, 2007 and January 11, 2008 and the Executive Meeting of January 23, 2008.

  2. BRING-FORWARD SYSTEM

    Commissioners noted the similar alerting letters to governments relating to the proposed Ojibway Power and Energy Group (OPEG) projects on the Namakan River in Ontario and asked to see the January 18, 2008 reply from the government of Canada noting that the U.S. government has not responded yet.

  3. 2008 SPRING SEMI-ANNUAL MEETING

    Commissioners approved the suggested Boards that will be asked to appear for the 2008 Spring Semi-Annual Meeting.

  4. GREAT LAKES WATER QUALITY AGREEMENT ACCOUNTABILITY ISSUE

    Commissioners were informed that the government of Canada had informally identified two officials to work with IJC staff and that the U.S. government had not yet replied, and agreed that the U.S. Acting Secretary should follow up with State Department.

  5. 14th BIENNIAL REPORT ON GREAT LAKES WATER QUALITY

    Commissioners received an update on the 14th Biennial Report that will address the issues of municipal and industrial discharges into the Great Lakes and agreed to write similar letters to governments seeking data and information for the report.

  6. IJC GROUNDWATER AND URBAN IMPACTS REPORTS

    Commissioners received an update on the Groundwater and Urban Issues Reports noting that both will be presented for approval at the April 2008 semi-annual meeting.

  7. INTERNATIONAL UPPER GREAT LAKES STUDY

    Commissioners received an oral update on Study activities including membership; recent Board, PIAG and Task Team meetings; water level and flow monitoring; Peer review and communications issues.

  8. OTHER BUSINESS

    2009 Spring Semi-annual Meeting
    Commissioners approved changing the dates of the 2009 semi-annual meeting to March 31-April 3, 2009.

    Lake Ontario – St. Lawrence River (LOSLR)
    Commissioners received an oral update on comments provided by the U.S. Department of State and the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs since the January 23, 2008 meeting in Washington, DC relating to various Commission documents for public release.
