DEBRIEF ON THE KINGSTON BIENNIAL MEETING

  1. The Commission deferred discussion of the Kingston Biennial Meeting pending review of a staff briefing document.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

  1. The Commission approved the minutes of the June 2, 2005 conference call, the June 7-8, 2005 executive meeting, and the June 16, 2005 conference call.

APPROVAL OF APPOINTMENTS

  1. The Commission:
    1. approved the reappointments of Dr. Stephen Brandt as Co-Chair, and Mr. James Nicholas, Drs. Christopher DeRosa, Joseph DePinto, Charles Krueger, and Jeffrey Reutter to the U.S. Section of the Council of Great Lakes Research Managers for a three-year term;
    2. approved the appointment of Dr. Saad Jasim as a member, and the reappointment of Dr. William Meades and Mr. Jacinthe Leclerc as members of the Canadian Section of the Council of Great Lakes Research Managers for a three-year term; and
    3. approved the of Mr. Wayne Dybvig as Co-Chair of the Canadian Section of the International Red River Board for a three-year term effective July 15, 2005.

APPROVAL OF OVERALL AND BOARD APPEARANCES AGENDA FOR 2005 FALL SEMI-ANNUAL MEETING

  1. The Commission approved the agenda for the Commission's 2005 fall Semiannual Meeting subject to minor edits.

GLWQA CONSULTATION REFERENCE

  1. The Commission received a briefing on progress to date by an IJC staff working group established for the reference on public consultation for the Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement review.

IJC CENTENNIAL

  1. Commissioner Blaney briefed the Commission on steps taken concerning a history of the Boundary Waters Treaty for its centennial in 2009.
