GRAND COULEE CANADIAN COLUMBIA RIVER INTER-TRIBAL FISHERIES COMMISSION (CCRIFC) REQUEST

  1. Commissioners approved:
    1. publishing the May 5 letter from the CCRIFC on the IJC website;
    2. the draft letter to the federal governments subject to edits; and
    3. publishing this material in the Canada Gazette and U.S. Federal Register inviting comments, allowing up to 60 days.

UPPER LAKES PLAN OF STUDY REVISION TEAM (ULPOS)

  1. Commissioners approved:
    1. the appointments of Canadian team members David Fay and Alan Chow; and U.S. team members Cynthia Sellinger and Martin Jannereth, as well as Scott Thieme as an alternate to LTC Lauzon; and
    2. issuing a press release announcing same.

GREAT LAKES FISHERY COMMISSION (GLFC) RECOGNITION

  1. Commissioners approved framing the "Then and Now" report as proposed by staff and presenting this to the GLFC at the Kingston Biennial Meeting.

RECOGNITION OF LAKE VICTORIA ENVIROMENTAL MANAGEMENT PROGRAM AT BIENNIAL MEETING

  1. Commissioners agreed to meet the Lake Victoria delegation at the Biennial Meeting during the Mayor's reception.

REQUEST TO PERMIT SEVERAL U.S. NATIONAL ACADEMY OF SCIENCE (NAS) AND CANADIAN ROYAL SOCIETY (CRS) PEER REVIEW OBSERVERS AT THE JUNE 8 LAKE ONTARIO-ST. LAWRENCE RIVER STUDY BOARD/ IJC BRIEFING

  1. Commissioners agreed that NAS/RSC reviewers could attend the June 8 briefing if the reviewers so choose.
