APPOINTMENT
- Commissioners approved the appointment of Mr. Thomas Easterly to the U.S. Section of the Great Lakes Water Quality Board for an indeterminate term.
APRIL SEMI-ANNUAL MEETING
- Commissioners approved:
- scheduling in-camera time during its executive session;
- arranging a call on Monday, April 11, with the Missisquoi Bay Task Force;
- meeting with graduate students separately from the regularly-scheduled meetings and inviting them to the reception; and
- transcribing this meeting and considering the matter again before the October semi-annual.
MISSISQUOI BAY REPORT RELEASE
- Commissioners approved:
- an additional press conference on March 31 in Quebec; and
- the transmittal letter of the report to governments.
OTHER BUSINESS
- Commissioners noted the release by President Bush and Prime Minister Martin following Canada-U.S.-Mexico meetings in Texas, including the reference to improving Canada-U.S. environmental matters, and agreed that staff should provide additional information on how the release will be actualized and how the IJC may assist for discussion on the next conference call.
