APPROVAL OF THE CONFERENCE CALL AGENDA
- The Commission approved the agenda as reflected by these Minutes.
APPOINTMENTS
- The Commission approved:
- Great Lakes Water Quality Board, Canadian Section
the appointment of Mr. Paul Glover as a member for a three-year term.
- International St. Lawrence River Board of Control, U.S. Section
the re-appointment of Dr. Ted Hullar as a member for a three-year term ending February 2008.
- International St. Lawrence River, Niagara and Lake Superior Boards of Control,
U.S. Section
the appointment of Brigadier General Berwick as Co-chair.
- International Rainy River Water Pollution Board, U.S. Section
the appointment of Mr. Jeff Stoner as a member effective immediately and as Co-chair effective April 16, 2005 and the appointment of Mr. Nolan Baratono as a member effective April 16, 2005.
- International Red River Board, Canadian Section
the appointment of Herm Martens as a member.
APRIL 2005 SEMI-ANNUAL MEETING
- The Commission approved the proposed overall agenda for the meeting and agreed it should be sent to all the Boards appearing at that meeting.
2004 ANNUAL REPORT
- Commissioners approved the final text and layout with minor edits and agreed that new photos of Commissioners should be taken for the next Annual Report.
IJC POLICIES AND PRACTICES
- The Commission approved a revision to the IJC policy on sponsorship.
U.S. GREAT LAKES REGIONAL COLLABORATION (GLRC)
- The Commission received an update on the U.S. GLRC and agreed that IJC advisers could attend meetings as observers.
CANADA-U.S. AIR QUALITY AGREEMENT
- The Commission received an update on comments received on the Governments' 2004 Progress Report of the Air Quality Committee.
ANNEX 2001
- The Commission agreed that staff should put their drafting work on hold until the Council of Great Lakes Governors issues a new draft for public comment.
ST. MARY-MILK RIVERS
- The Commission received an update on the work of the Administrative Measures Task Force and agreed to defer further discussion until the Executive Meeting in Ottawa.
INTERNATIONAL SOURIS RIVER BOARD
- The Commission received an update on the action plan for expansion of the Board's mandate and agreed to contact governments by phone and by letter expressing the Commission's desire to move forward with the Board's mandate expansion.
INTERNATIONAL RED RIVER BOARD
- The Commission received an update on the U.S. Congress "earmark" for the Red River Basin and the proposed Comprehensive Flood Mitigation Plan.
OTHER BUSINESS
- Lake of the Woods Update
The Commission agreed to accept an invitation to visit the area this summer and consider which Commissioners and staff should attend.
