The International Joint Commission announces that it has selected Milwaukee, WI as the site of its 1999 Biennial Forum on Great Lakes Water Quality. The theme of partnerships and progress in cleaning up the Great Lakes will be the focus of the meeting to be held September 24-26, 1999. Watch for details in future issues of Focus and on the Commission's website at www.ijc.org.


Soulignons que la Commission mixte internationale a choisi Milwaukee, au Wisconsin, comme ville hôte du Forum biennal de 1999 sur la qualité de l'eau des Grands Lacs. Solutions That Dont Cost the Earth, 1998 Environment and Energy Conference of Ontario will be held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre November 24-25, 1998. The Great Lakes Commission announces a Great Lakes Geographic (GIS) Online Workshop, slated for December 9-10, 1998 at the University of Chicago's Gleacher Center. Intended primarily for state and provincial GIS professionals, this event will provide a forum for discussing current and prospective GIS applications and regional efforts.
