In Our Stolen Future: Are We Threatening Our Fertility, Intelligence and Survival?, Theo Colborn, John Peterson Myers and Dianne Dumanoski sound the most important warning in 30 years about commonly used chemicals that new research shows may be undermining the health of millions of children, born and unborn.

Following a trail of scientific evidence through increasingly disturbing reports of animal reproductive and developmental abnormalities from all over the world, Colborn, Myers and Dumanoski reveal that the likely culprit is a variety of widely used man-made chemicals that mimic or disrupt natural reproductive hormones.

Most ominous, since human and animal reproductive hormone systems are virtually identical in their chemistry, new research is uncovering evidence that hormone-disrupting chemicals may already be having serious reproductive, health and behavioral impacts on humans, particularly through the exposure of unborn children during pregnancy.

The authors provide a readable account that is both on the cutting edge of science and easily accesible to the lay reader. Our Stolen Future: Are We Threatening Our Fertility, Intelligence and Survival? is published by Dutton and available in bookstores for $24.95 (US).
