A National Wetlands Workshop sponsored by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will be held on April 3-7, 1995 in New Orleans, Louisiana and will include results from the four-year, interdisciplinary Wetlands Research Program.

Sediment Remediation '95 will be held May 8-10, 1995 at the Cleary International Centre, Windsor, Ontario. An International Congress on Hazardous Waste: Impact on Human and Ecological Health will be held June 5-8, 1995 in Atlanta, Georgia. Its purpose is to exchange findings, ideas and recommendations related to health and ecological effects of hazardous waste.

Two events are planned to bring students from the United States and Canada together to develop an environmental agenda for the Great Lakes. One objective of each event is to send a delegation to present findings to the International Joint Commission's Biennial Meeting on Great Lakes Water Quality (see pages 9-11).
Western New York will welcome students from grades 5-12 and their teachers from states in the Great Lakes basin and Ontario to the Great Lakes Student Summit, June 6-7, 1995 in Buffalo, New York. At the summit, students will exchange ideas, network and provide a catalyst for enhanced learning activities related to the Great Lakes. High school students and their teachers from throughout the Lake Superior basin will converge on Northland College in Ashland, Wisconsin, May 10-12, 1995 for the first annual International Environmental Symposium. The symposium will familiarize students with the natural and cultural history of Wisconsin's north coast, update students on bioregional environmental issues, provide environmental leadership training and give students an opportunity to present their own research findings. Stone Laboratory, Ohio's freshwater biological field station on Lake Erie, offers university field courses from June 18 to August 26, 1995. Hands-on courses are held in biology, geology, education and natural resources for college students, teachers, and high school students.

The Soil and Water Conservation Society's annual meeting will "Celebrate, Anticipate, Innovate: 50 More Years of Partnerships." This international forum to be held from August 6-9, 1995 in Des Moines, Iowa will debate and discuss critical resource management issues and will include plenary sessions, interactive concurrent seminars, symposia, panels, roundtables workshops, computer model demonstrations and a poster session.
