Hi, I am a shoreline property owner, right around the corner from the Edgemere Drive residents on lake Ontario. I would like to comment on both short term and long term policy. At the curent time the water level is too low. It is almost a foot below the 100 year average and is like fall levels at this time. We residents are concerned this is too low for us to access the lake through Braddocks bay where we live. It needs to be raised and it needs to be maintained longer through the summer as it is too low!!! Now over the long term we believe the level should be at the 100 year average for a policy to manage. This ideally would be at the 100 year average by plus six to 12 inches through the months of May, June, July, August, and September. It could be below the 100 year average during all the other months to prevent erosion durring the stormy months for the other shoreline owners. This year they kept it above the 100 year average for November, December, January, February, and March and that resulted in the most erosion I have seen in over 30 years on the water here in the Rochester, NY area. I understand that to change the 100 year average can be done by not only staying below it during the higher water seasons but staying above it during the lower level seasons too. This benifits no one! You should go back to the 100 year average maintenance levels and quit screwing around with this!!!
