International Joint Commission (IJC)
More than a century of cooperation protecting shared waters

Full Version

The International Joint Commission establishes boards to assist it in carrying out activities. Experts from both countries serve on technical boards for the Commission and carry out the required studies and field work. Boards of Control are appointed by the Commission to report on compliance with the orders of approval, while study boards, advisory boards and task forces assist in references and other matters.
