Upcoming Meetings

The International Red River Board (IRRB) and the International Joint Commission (IJC) will be hosting a public open house meeting at the Fort Garry Hotel, Winnipeg, MB on Thursday, January 25, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. This year’s Public Input Session will take place as part of the Red River Basin Commission’s Annual Summit Conference during the lunch hour. The IRRB assists the International Joint Commission in preventing and resolving disputes relating to the transboundary waters of the Red River Basin.

Members of the public are invited to attend an open house hosted by the International Souris River Study Board (ISRSB) from 7-9 p.m. CST at the Grand Hotel in Minot, North Dakota, on February 20, 2018.

During the event, the public will have an opportunity to meet members of the Study Board, ask questions about the two-year study, and provide comments on the Study Board’s draft Work Plan.

IAGLR's 58th Annual Conference on Great Lakes Research will be held at the University of Vermont in Burlington from May 25-29, 2015. The theme for this year's conference is New Views New Tools.

Canadian photographer Edward Burtynsky will headline an evening dedicated to the incomparable freshwater resources of the Great Lakes on Wednesday, May 13 at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo, NY.

The event, "Unexpected Voices of the Great Lakes," will kick off with a talk by Burtynsky, who specializes in images of nature transformed through industry.  A panel discussion will follow, highlighting the connection between the lakes and quality of life for the millions who rely on them for recreation, commerce, drinking water and spiritual fulfillment.

The event begins at 6:30 p.m. at the gallery, 1285 Elmwood Avenue in Buffalo. It is free and open to the public. Registration is requested at this link. It is cosponsored by the International Joint Commission’s Water Quality Board and the Buffalo Niagara Riverkeeper.

U.S. Commissioner of the International Joint Commission, Rich Moy, will be addressing the Lake of the Woods District Property Owners Association during their Annual General Meeting on May 4th at the Victoria Inn in Winnipeg.
