State of Lake Huron Meeting

The Lake Huron Partnership is happy to announce that registration is now open for the State of Lake Huron Meeting.  This two day meeting will bring together scientists, resource managers, and interested members of the public from the United States and Canada to discuss the current science and status of Lake Huron, including the St. Marys River. 


Attendees can expect to learn about a wide range of Lake Huron issues including aquatic ecosystem changes, nutrient and food web dynamics, fish and wildlife contaminants, aquatic habitats, and more.  The meeting will also provide an opportunity for participants to engage in discussions that will help to define the binational science and monitoring priorities for Lake Huron’s 2017 year of cooperative study.  A draft meeting agenda is attached.


The State of Lake Huron Meeting is expected to be free however participants are responsible for costs associated with Lodging, travel, and meals.


Registration will be open until October 23, 2015 and space is limited to the first 85 registrants.  So, please register early to reserve your spot.  To register please use the following link:


Lodging:  A block of rooms has been reserved for the nights of November 3rd, 4th, & 5th at The Sanctuary Inn.  Room rates are $79.00/night (plus applicable taxes) in US dollars.  To reserve a room please contact The Sanctuary Inn and ask for the “State of Lake Huron Meeting” block of rooms.  Rooms will be held until October 6th so please make your lodging reservations early to ensure room availability and rates.
