My husband & I live in the Braddock Bay area. We'd like to vote for the environmental plan B. After Hurricane Katrina, it's pretty hard to justify not doing the best for our natural water habitat including wetlands. This plan also results in some good & bad years for homeowners, boaters, & shipping so it's fair. We'd also like to suggest a "take the lake shore back" buy back program. There should be a standing offer from the US at least to buy back at fair market value plus a premium, any homes or properties that are along the lakeshore. This way they could be torn down and over time, we'd be able to reclaim some wetland areas that have already been developed. It would also give the general public a view of the lake which is now mainly blocked in many areas. The owners would also save the commission normally paid to a real estate agent so they would have an incentive to sell.
