September 15, 2006 - Mr. Robert McConnell, Arlington, Massachusetts

As a Canadian citizen, U.S. resident, professional earth scientist, boater, and environmentalist who has been spending summers in the Thousand Islands for my entire life, I am strongly in favour of Plan A+ as opposed to alternative plans. My main reason is the extreme swings in water height allowed by Plan B which are claimed by the proponents to have advantages to the environment and the support of boaters. My research suggests that these claims are false, and have been mainly concocted to fit the agenda of the proponents. Certainly the vast majority of the boaters and land owners I know are opposed to Plan B+ once they are aware the permitted water level variability. I see no reason to believe that the environmental claims are any more truthful. I strongly urge you to vote for Plan A+.
