September 14, 2006 - Mr. and Mrs. John LaManna

Dear U.S. Section Secretary,

We have a home located in the Chippewa Bay area of the St. Lawrence River. We have vacationed on the River since 1970 and purchased 2.6 acres on the River in 1988. We have continually watched the water levels decline to very unacceptable levels.

Each year we must take our boats out of the water earlier and earlier in our already too short season. This year we pulled all of our boats the first week in September although we would like to use our home through October or November.

I do not believe that these levels are good for boaters, but even more so, our shoreline areas where spawing takes place now has mud fairly early in the season. I firmly believe we are damaging the environment by not keeping the water at adequte levels.

We would appreciate someone looking at restoring the water levels to an acceptable level.

This years "mistake" of letting too much water out too early was detrimental to many areas.
