LEED is a voluntary, consensus-based national standard for developing high-performance, sustainable buildings. Members of the U.S. Green Building Council, representing every sector of the building industry, developed and continue to refine LEED. The Canada Green Building Council developed LEED Canada, an adaptation of the standard tailored specifically for Canadian climates, construction practices and regulations.
